I am president of Distributed Computing Systems, LLC. and have a number of years experience working with various Wall Street firms, Telecommunications Companies, Internet Service Providers, and Sun Professional Services.  My background has primarily been in distributed computing technology and architecture with heavy emphasis on Unix.  By not being focussed in any one particular business area and maintaining my area of concentration in distributed client/server computing, I have been able to move from one industry to another.  From a distributed systems point of view, one industry's needs are very much like any other's.  My primary area of expertise is with Unix system architecture.  Also, I have done many things with Perl - including CGI forms, Perl/Tk XWindows applications, and integrating Perl with Oracle for data extraction and insertion.

If you'd like to know more about me personally, I'm working on putting together a personal biography. This will be available from this page. Then again, you could mail me at mps@discomsys.com and ask me just about anything. Until then, let me leave you with this thought:

Don't waste your life...

If you want to know about my background, you can look at my resume.

Various Manuals and FAQ material I find useful, you may find them useful as well.

At the moment my homepage is mostly just a collection of online documentation which I have put on my web server for ease of access for me.  Some of the information may be out of date, and I'll probably begin replacing some of the documents stored here locally with links to external sources.
